The gap

Diagram macros for Confluence tend to ship a blurry fixed-size image, break in PDF exports, need a render server or an account, lag years behind the engine, or handle only one language. Teams end up with three diagram apps and a folder of screenshots.

What it does

Mermaid 12, PlantUML 1.2026 (in the browser, no Graphviz), D2, DBML and Excalidraw, each as its own macro with a language switch.
Vector SVG that fills the page; click for full screen with scroll-to-zoom and drag-to-pan.
Live preview while you type, resizable split, starter templates, errors that name the line.
Paste a fenced code block from an AI chat or README, or a mermaid.live, plantuml.com or Kroki link, and it just works.
Follows Confluence light and dark themes unless the diagram pins its own.

Honest about its limits

Very large PlantUML sprite packs (AWS, IBM, Material, tupadr3, logos, office, osa) are not bundled; C4, Kubernetes, Azure, GCP, Elastic and ArchiMate are.
Each text diagram is capped at 50,000 characters, the same limit Mermaid applies.
Confluence only for now. A Jira issue panel is on the roadmap.
The one write path, honestly scoped: On save, the editor attaches one PNG per diagram to the page (re-versioned on each change) so PDF and Word exports include the rendered image. That is the only write.

Security & permissions

Built on Atlassian Forge: the app runs on Atlassian's own serverless platform inside your tenant, stores its data in Forge storage, and makes no external network calls. Every scope it requests, and why:

storage:app	drawings over about 200 KB are stored in Forge storage inside your tenant
read:content-details:confluence / write:attachment:confluence	attaching the diagram PNG to the page on save, as you, so exports show the image
read:attachment:confluence	the export function looks up that PNG when Confluence builds a PDF or Word export

Does any data leave my instance?

No. The app runs on Atlassian Forge inside your own tenant with zero external egress, which makes it eligible for Atlassian's Runs on Atlassian trust marker.
